Korean-style lentils

  • For a new taste, you can also use : Organic French Lentils

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of Organic Red Lentils
  • 1/4 cup soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • lime (to taste)
  • basilic (falcultatif)

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Cook the ginger and onion for 2 to 3 minutes while stirring.
  2. Add 500 mL (2 cups) water, soy sauce, lentils, diced peppers and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, until the liquid is almost completely absorbed. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Just before serving, garnish with lime and basil.
  4. Idea for accompaniment: vermicelli or rice.
