Beet and chickpea burger

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500 ml) Organic Chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Organic Oats Flakes
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Organic Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Organic Brown Flaxseeds
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cooked and mashed beets
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cooked cauliflower rice
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) finely chopped onions
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) hemp seeds
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried parsley
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons (6.25 ml) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice

Preparation

  • Prepare the chickpeas according to the instructions on the package. Let cool, then mash.
  • Lightly grind the flaxseeds and hemp seeds.
  • Thoroughly mix all the ingredients. With hands slightly moistened with water, shape into 6 patties.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side in a lightly oiled skillet. Serve on hamburger buns with your favorite condiments.

Note: For grilling on the BBQ, it's recommended to lightly oil the patties to prevent sticking.
