Crunchy chickpea snack

Ingredients

  • 500 g Organic Chickpeas (garbanzo)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml)  cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) chili seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pepper
  • 1/4 tablespoon (3.75 ml) onion powder

Preparation

  1. Soak the chickpeas for 8 to 12 hours. After soaking, rinse (do not collect the soaking water) and bring to a boil and simmer for about 1-2 hours or until the chickpeas are tender. Dry the chickpeas well.
  2. In a bowl, combine the chickpeas, oil, cumin powder, chili powder, onion powder, pepper and salt, then stir well.
  3. Spread chickpeas on a baking sheet and bake at 450°F (232°C) for 40 to 50 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
