  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk butter (soft butter), sugar, egg and vanilla until whitened. In another bowl, combine flour, ginger powder. Incorporate with a fork to the previous mixture, add the chocolate chips. Add some water to help. Form into a ball.
  3. Share the dough in half, and lower it on a floured surface. Cut with round or patterned cutters about 2 1/4 inches (6 cm). For Valentine's Day, you can use a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the top of the oven for 12-15 minutes. Let cool on rack.
