1 cup of Organic Golden Cane Sugar
10 cups water
4 cups strawberries from Quebec province
3 cm grated ginger
3 star anise
Ice cubes to taste
Rinse the strawberries thoroughly.
Cut the strawberries into pieces and grate the ginger.
In a saucepan, bring to the boil 2 cups water, the strawberries in pieces, the sugar, the ginger and the star anise.
Simmer over medium-low heat for 7 minutes.
Stir and roughly crush the strawberries.
Reserve and let stand 5 minutes.
In a fine sieve or cheesecloth placed over a pitcher, pour in the hot mixture.
In the pitcher, add 8 cups warm water.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
When serving, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour in lemonade.
