Chickpeas General Tao

  • Product used in this recipe : Organic Chickpeas (garbanzo)
  • For a new taste, you can also use : Organic Brown Lentils

Ingredients

  • 540 milliliter of Organic Chickpeas (garbanzo)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 broccoli head cut into florets
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoon of ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon of Sriracha sauce
  • 1 cup of vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon of corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Preparation

  1. In a skillet over high heat, sauté the vegetables, chickpeas and ginger in the oil for 10 minutes.
  2. Add soy sauce, maple syrup, ketchup, sriracha sauce, vegetable broth, mix well, bring to a boil and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and stir into the mixture.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Serve with basmati rice
